What are your passions outside of work?

Exercising, woodworking, beer

How would you describe your level of camping experience?

Beginner – I went camping for the first time with Shoestring Adventures!

Tell us about your Shoestring Adventures!

I was a first-time Shoestring Warrior when I went on the Montana De Oro adventure with my wife, her second Shoestring Adventure. I was apprehensive about camping with strangers to be honest, but everyone couldn’t have been nicer, and we had a great time! Alyx and Abbey were excellent hosts/guides.

What advice do you have for first-time campers who want to get outdoors?

Just do it!! You won’t regret it. I’m still a beginner, but I recommend bringing some hand warmers, the kind you shake up and they stay hot for about 8 hours. If you get cold at night, just stuff them in between two layers of socks, and you’ll be very cozy!

The perfect s’more?

Marshmallow a little burnt, a lot of chocolate and cinnamon graham crackers!
